There is still a lot of uncertainty: am I currently allowed to hold in-person events?
The extent of the measures to be taken depends on the size of the event and the regionally applicable regulations. However, the applicable hygiene requirements must be observed even for small events.
This also applies to virtual events, where no participants are present, but where staff, speakers, moderators, artists, etc. are usually present in larger numbers.
Hygiene officer for the event industry – what is that?
In order to be able to provide even better information on these topics, we are currently taking part in the course “Hygiene requirements and infection prevention for events, venues and hotels”, which will be completed at the end of January with the certificate “Hygiene Officer for the Event Industry”.
This means that we are well equipped to advise our clients on planning their events, to draw up hygiene plans and, above all, to implement them.
What needs to be taken into account when it comes to hygiene?
What we already know: it’s not just about posting the hygiene regulations that apply at the event (mandatory masks, disinfection of hands, etc.), but also about managing the flow of visitors, tracking participants and staff, and escalation plans.
In addition to the legal basics of hygiene at events, the course also includes training on how to recognise and assess risks. We learn how to create a hygiene concept and a hygiene plan for events and what to consider when implementing them.
Another important point is communication. The best hygiene plan is useless if it is not communicated to all participants and compliance is not monitored. Therefore, every larger event also needs a person who takes care of hygiene on a full-time basis.
